Business-Line is the leading provider of financial data in the Faroe Islands, providing its members access to the key financial data for most Faroese companies. As a natural expansion Business-Line decided earlier this year to create an access-for-all business portal.

Being the leading provider of communication solutions in the Faroes, Dynamicweb partner Sendistovan was contacted to orchestrate the move to this new area of business. Having already provided the two largest banks on the islands with Dynamicweb solutions, Sendistovan was the obvious choice for such a complex challenge.

The owners of Business-Line wanted a thoroughly tested and flexible system with possibilities for integrating custom-made solutions to fit this website. Dynamicweb CMS, with more than 4,000 clients worldwide, provided this platform.

The old business-line.fo website was outdated in several areas. The old system had reached its limits, the layout needed an update and the URL business-line.fo was seen as being too complex. Changing the URL to bl.fo took care of the complexity issue. Sendistovan provided a brand new business-friendly layout and structure.

Standard and customization goes hand-in-hand

A Dynamicweb Business solution is the platform for the website, using standard add-on modules, including Dynamicweb News, Dynamicweb Newsletter, Dynamicweb Search Extended, Dynamicweb RSS, Dynamicweb Extranet/Intranet, Dynamicweb Poll and Dynamicweb Forms to take care of most of the basic features. The Forms module provides the owners of Business-Line with the perfect tool for interacting with the users. Companies can easily send in corrections and further information about their area of business, to ensure that the information at any time is up to date.

For the Financial database Sendistovan developed a custom module using Dynamicweb Developer and Dynamicweb Database Publishing for the integration.

The custom module integrates the financial membership based data of the website with the public information data about the companies. This includes a complex search engine and system of categorizing companies by areas of expertise.
