all over the world come together. Here

they can share knowledge and strengthen

the linguistic and cultural bonds that

parts of the world.

Share knowledge across borders and seas - it's easy with Dynamicweb!

CPLP - Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa - is an organization of countries where the official spoken language is Portuguese. The 8 member countries are Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Sao Tome & Principe and East Timor. The Portuguese-speaking countries are home to more than 223 million people located across the globe. Their new website www.cplp.org was recently implemented by Portugues Dynamicweb distributor Alencastre.net

The idea behind the new website was to create a portal where the entire Portuguese speaking community could share knowledge and information. As the community is the 5th largest in the world and the countries where Portuguese is the official spoken language are spread across the globe, they needed a place where they could meet and where the governments of the 8 membership countries could work together.

An example of this is the Dynamicweb Intranet/Extranet module. This is a closed-off part of the website that will be used by CPLP ambassadors and personnel in all delegations around the world.

Fast and efficent - and very secure

The previous site for CPLP was missing a lot of vital functionality such as the aforementioned Intranet/Extranet and also Dynamicweb Forum, Dynamicweb Newsletter, Dynamicweb Weblog and Dynamicweb File Publishing. All of these modules are standard in Dynamicweb CMS and that was one of the reason for the choice.

Another important reason was the ease of use. The five employess who work with the solution on a daily basis find that the system is quick, user friendly and it's very easy to update the content.

As their previous solution lacked proper secutiry measures this was also grounds for concideration when CPLP went shopping for a new content management system. Sales Manager of Alencastre.net, Ricardo Santos elaborates:

The easy and fast update makes the site much more reliable and it saves the users time and provide them with more relevant information. Through a simple standard application such as this CPLP can also manage public and private information, organize events, create debates and send out newsletters to the users of the site!
