E-commerce combines B2C and B2B in a single solution

Comwir needed a way to optimize the entire process of updating their product information.  Furthermore, they also wanted to enter a very competitive market. This meant that the company chose to implement their web solution in Dynamicweb after having scanned the market for e-commerce solutions thoroughly.

 

By combining their website and their e-commerce in a single solution, Comwir has successfully achieved the synergy that the company sought in connection with their new on-line business. Not only are they able to update their business information on the fly meaning that all information is kept up-to-date at all times. By using Dynamicweb Product Catalog, they are also able to gather and structure their product information in a single database.

In a competitive environment, we need to be able to update our website daily, well, even hourly, with current offers and technical specifications. Dynamicweb CMS not only allows us do this, but it also allows us to be physically independent from our offices when we need to update our website. We only require access to a web browser in order to change virtually anything on our website.

Overview provides security

The possibility of targeting product presentations at both private and professional customers in a single solution, without having to produce a single line of code, means that the webmaster has a complete overview from a single solution. Managing everything from a central location reduces the risk of wrong information considerably.

All on-line orders are sent from the user interface directly to the sales department at Comwir which subsequently distributes the orders to the relevant departments within the company (as part of a start-up phase from January to February 2006). The solution enables the company to extract essential statistics, such as order statistics of open as well as executed orders. This means that Comwir is able to maintain an overview of order flows and sales at all times.

Realizing that the Internet is constantly expanding and continuously offers more advanced uses, Comwir already now considers how they can optimize their use of the Internet. Moreover, they are planning to completely integrate Dynamicweb with their ERP system which will automate all their selling processes.
