Dynamic website establishes direct contact with bank customers
The solution of this month is Føroya Sparikassi which is the first and largest bank in the Faroe Islands. The bank, which has international ambitions, has widespread activities with 16 braches in the Faroe Islands, subsidiaries in the Faroe Islands and in Denmark and other activities in the Faroe Islands and abroad.
 
Føroya Sparikassi was the first Faroese company with a website, and the current solution is definitely the most extensive – a portal containing three groups of companies in the same solution, and even more are to come.


The solution focuses on three main areas: Factual information about, and advertisements for, the bank's products and offers, financial news and direct contact with users and customers.
 

“Today, the website is a very important part of the communication with our customers. We consider our website to be the 17th branch among our other 16 braches”, says Marner Jacobsen, managing director, in his welcome text on the new website which was introduced on 1 November 2005.
 
The website is a very important part of the company's communication. Many customers already carry out all their bank activities though home banking, and in a not so distant future, more self-services will become available within the financial sector. This is where dynamic websolutions play an important role.

Modular structure

Reproz developed and implemented the solution. They used several standard modules in Dynamicweb which were able to solve the challenges without encountering problems. Only once, the standard modules reached their limitations and Dynamicweb Developer had to be used instead. Reproz used it to develop a special module to manage the bank's donation fund etc.
