An effective display window

Idealcombi is a leading Danish manufacturer of windows and doors for the professional market. The company has since 1973 been producing innovative and high quality products in both timber and combined aluminium composit/timber. The company is also focused on environmental issues and is very concerned with re-cycling materials and minimizing the effects of production.

Recently Idealcombi initiated a redesign of its corporate image, that more accurately displayed the company’s focus on innovation and high quality. Among the elements that took on a new shape was the company website. The new website needed to reflect the visual elements of the company image and offer the customers a better and quicker service.
 

Idealcombi turned to the Danish advertising agency Gottlieb & Co A/S who was given the task of developing the new website.

“The new Idealcombi website was a large and interesting challenge. First there was the visual aspect, were we had to develop a design that was in line with a modern and innovative business. And secondly the website needed to be functional – the customer should easily be able to find what he was looking for.” explains Jacob Mohr Hansen, from Gottlieb & Co.

The need for information

The new website of Idealcombi is designed to provide all customers with the necessary information related to the use and selection of windows and doors. In doing this, the many different persons who might be involved in the process are taken into consideration. The website therefore contains information spanning all the way from very detailed technical drawings, to inspirational pictures of how a solutions based on Idealcombi products might look.

The large amounts of information and the fact that Idealcombi is an expanding company meant that Gottlieb & Co choose to implement the website on a Dynamicweb Portal solution. A Portal solution in combination with Dynamicweb Language/Area offered Idealcombi the possibility of having a large and complex website that covers different markets, while still having complete control to edit and expand the website.

Besides the detailed on-line information, the website, using Dynamicweb Forms, also offers the possibility of filling in a form and having physical brochures sent to the customer’s home addressee. In this way the website effectively reaches out beyond the boundaries of the internet and established a physical connecting to the consumer.

Idealcombi was founded in 1973 and the focus of the business has since the then been on the development, manufacture and selling of quality windows and doors. Company head office, production facilities and sales support are all located in Denmark, but with an international branch in England and sales representations in Ireland and Iceland. The company offers a wide range of windows and doors of both wood and aluminium constructions for all types of buildings.

Environmental considerations are also central to Idealcombi’s business. The company places great emphasis on continuously reducing the environmental impact of production and choice of materials. Among the initiatives to actively manage the company’s environmental policy, are for instance the re-cycling of glass and aluminium, as well as only using wood harvested in sustainable forestry that ensures systematic replanting.
