Esthetics and efficiency

The activities above involved a complete change in layout. In their new line of design, focus is on the Concert Hall's esthetic aspects. Images of the buildings, front view, the foyer and the halls form the basis of the presentation of the different facilities of the Concert Hall, while pictures of some of the impressive and colourful shows form the frame for the presentation of the events.

The Concert Hall's supplier of sale and booking of tickets was changed in the process and is now solely handled by the ticketing office Billet-Net. Aparte A/S has thus integrated a Dynamicweb solution with Billet-Net. Besides handling the ordinary ticket sale, the system also handles the sale of tickets in the discount system Club Half Price

In addition, the Concert Hall's Portal solution has implemented Dynamicweb eCommerce which means that the users can buy products online, such as gift certificates, membership of Club Half Price etc. The website module Dynamicweb Payment Gateway deals with the integration with DIBS (an external payment gateway) to add the opportunity of using a variety of payment cards on the website.

Beside the modules referred to above, aparte A/S has also made a customized website module that deals with the Concert Hall's core service – their many shows and events. A lot of work was done in order to establish a user-friendly and easily accessible module for the administration of the Concert Hall. Hence, the module has become an important tool in the effort to optimize the many administrative processes in the Concert Hall and render them more effective.

Of course, we are looking forward to the continuing development of the website which in the future will accommodate the many new facilities in the Concert Hall just as the existing parts will be developed and refined continuously with still more service abilities”, says Anders Hede, Head of Marketing of the Concert Hall in Aarhus.

The Concert Hall in Aarhus in brief

The Concert Hall in Aarhus has an area of 15,000 m2 which is the same as 120 single-family houses. There are 300 rooms in the building of which the foyer and the halls make the “heart” of the Concert Hall. Every year, more than 300,000 tickets are sold for the more than 1,000 events and shows that are held in the 2 halls, the Café, the Foyer and in the Concert Hall's amphitheatre.

Apart from the many paying customers, a large number of people visit the Concert Hall to attend one of the free events in the reception hall, dine in one of the restaurants or perhaps just to enjoy the building and the front view of the Concert Hall which is worth seeing in itself. In this way, the Concert Hall has more than 800,000 visitors every year.

The Concert Hall is currently undergoing an ambitious extension which means that it will have more than doubled in size by 2007. In the future, the Concert Hall will also hold the Royal Academy of Music (Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium), Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, the children's theatre Filuren and the Royal Opera (Den Jyske Opera). Thus, the current location of the Concert Hall is greatly expanded which means that it will include a large concert hall with 1,200 seats, a rhythmic hall, a theatre hall and several small halls.
