4-3-2-1 GO!

GO is the very first company in Malta to offer the convenience of voice, mobile, TV and broadband from one place – a truly converged telecommunications operator with a huge range of services, which are grouped in three areas – GO Business, GO Mobile and GO Plus.

In June 2007 Maltacom Group, was renamed and branded as GO. This signified the merger of the 4 brands Maltacom, Maltanet, Multiplus and GO Mobile. Along with the merger they launched a new web portal www.go.com.mt, which brings together all the services into one practical and easy-to-use website!

The Merger was the main driver for the implementation of the new site. GO was seeking to provide their customers with a one-stop-shop website where all information and services can be easily accessed. GO also needed to simplify the previous content, both visually and navigationally. Furthermore they required a flexible CMS.

Go that extra mile

The website was designed to fulfill certain requirements. First of all, GO needed a user-friendly CMS that could be managed by anyone, and not particularly IT trained employees. A CMS that could be customized to reflect the needs of a dynamic company such as GO. Secondly, the online visuals should be simple, clear, be easy to use and able to display the aesthetic values to represent the GO brand throughout.

As Malta’s leading telecommunication company, GO required a solution that would deliver the utmost in terms of reliability and accessibility. Hence, the Dynamicweb solution is hosted on a fully redundant and clustered server infrastructure based on Microsoft technology.

Due to the fact that GO successfully migrated all of the information and data from the four previous web sites into one, the new site is massive! In order to give the users the opportunity to select the relevant information, the website is divided into 3 smaller sub sites, each supporting the 3 major user groups: mobile users, Residential users and Business users,, that GO targets. The company was able to do this by using the add-on module Dynamicweb Language/Area. With this module it is so easy to copy for example the design of an entire web site and then use it on another site, where you might need another language or entirely different information. Because the site is so extensive, GO also uses Dynamicweb Search, Extended as an extra service to their users who need to find exact information fast.

The Maltese news portal www.di-ve.com, which gives the people of Malta news of their country and enables them to access online communities, is also owned by GO and will soon be converted to Dynamicweb too.

GO Mobile handles both business and personal mobile services while GO Plus is all about the home with fixed line, broadband and digital TV.
