October - Via Biler

October 2005 : Via Biler (Via Cars)
Complete car dealership solution – selling used cars and improving customer relationships…

For many years, Via Biler (Via Cars) have been successful in selling complete solutions to their customers in the shape of high quality cars at the right price, with the right amount of service and at the right time. For this reason, it was vital for the company that their marketing efforts reflected these values.

Via Biler had a clear mission with their new website. To avoid simply using the website as a business card, the intention from the very beginning was to establish closer relationships with existing customers by offering them multiple interaction possibilities with the company as well as the individual garages. In addition, the website had to be a tool for customers wanting to buy a new or used car.

Via Biler's ambition is quite straightforward: “Complete satisfaction must be achieved”.

With this ambition in mind, Via Biler wanted an Internet solution with many features and few limitations.

In the beginning, we were rather sceptical of using an ordinary Content Management System as these systems usually brings along an unwanted degree of standardization. However, Dynamicweb completely turned this theory around as they provided our partner with a developer module with which they were able to develop the exact functionalities that we needed.

On their website, Via Biler presents an extensive used car database. Instead of having to update the database manually, BRANDY developed a customized module by using the Dynamicweb Developer module. The module integrates the extensive used car database on bilinfo.dk with Via Biler's new website.

When this integration was achieved, the user-friendliness had to be optimized as well. For this reason, BRANDY developed a customized search module for the used car database. Moreover, BRANDY also developed and implemented a graphical interface which allows users to take control over the search which means that they are able to find the car that they want without spending an unnecessary amount of time searching for it.

“Dynamicweb Developer proved to be an impressive tool for us in this process. The limitations of Dynamicweb suddenly disappear when you are able to develop your own modules to supplement the standard modules already offered”, says Christian Brylle from BRANDY.

Standard modules

In addition to the advantages offered by Dynamicweb Developer, BRANDY also decided to use the standard modules which are integrated into Dynamicweb.

As Via Biler strives to offer a high degree of service, they wanted to provide customers with the possibility of booking a date for service or repair on-line. In this way, the company was able to live up to their ambition of complete satisfaction by offering customers more ways of contacting and interacting with the company.

The company was able to achieve the above by using the existing add-on modules for Dynamicweb.

Mr Erik Rasmussen says: “We want to give our customers the best service possible. This means that we, and not our customers, must adapt to needs and requests. Dynamicweb proved to be the right choice for us…”

Via Biler in brief

Via Biler was established on 1 December 1980 under the name Viby Motor Compagni. It was founded by Mrs Ruth Rasmussen and Mr Steen Rasmussen. In 1983, the company became a Toyota dealer, and soaring sales meant that they were chosen as the largest dealer in Denmark in 1989. Since then, more garages have been established, and the company recognized the need for a new name. The name change took effect on 1 May 2003, and since then, the company's garages have been united under this name.
